Idea for a science fiction universe. This idea starts by working backwards from a somewhat complicated concept. I hope I can explain it right. Often works of fiction are allegorical. Sometimes this is on purpose and sometimes this is accidental. Sometimes authors encourage an allegorical interpretation of their work and sometimes they discourage it. But basically, like, it would be like a science fiction universe but it would be about technology and humans' relationship to their technologies. It would be the far future from a world where the relationship between human and their technology was fundamentally different from our own at a user interface level. So for example, I use a keyboard and mouse or a game controller or a touch screen when I deal with all my tecnological aparati. Let's say this race of people, this planet, did not do things that way. Instead they used their sommunication machines in a fundamentally different manner than we do ours. Thinking about how we use our technologies, it is always fun to imagine where humanity will be or how we will develop thousands of years from now. So how much more interesting it would be to imagine this from a people who do things differently. So obviously there would need to be a consequence in the far future of whatever difference in lifestyle there was from us in these peoples' far past. Like think of how eastern cultures used chairs less than western cultures. Thats an example of what I'm going for but it would be like different like. I'd like to hone in on this a bit, I think there's a story to be told here.
